Birds are warm-blooded vertebrate animals that have wings, feathers, a beak, no teeth a skeleton in which many bones are fused together or are absent, and an extremely efficient,, one-way breathing system. Flying birds have strong, hollow bones and powerful flight muscles.

1.A bird's heart beats 400 times per minute while resting and up to 1000 beats per minute while flying.


2.Hummingbirds eat about every ten minutes, slurping down twice their body weight in nectar every day.Hummingbird being the smallest bird which measures around 5 cm and weighs 3 grams can fly backwards.

3.The only known poisonous bird in the world is the hooded pitohui of Papua, New Guinea. The poison is found in its skin and feathers.

4.Ostriches eyes are larger than their brains. 

5.Mockingbirds can imitate sounds of other birds.

6.The most talkative bird in the world is the African gray parrot. One parrot could say over 800 words. Most species of parrots can learn only 50.

7.Snowy owls can almost turn their head in a complete circle.

8.The world's only wingless bird is the kiwi of New Zealand.
9.Chicken is most common bird species found worldwide.
It was known that chickens are the most widespread species of birds. There are more chickens than any other birds in whole world.

10.A bird's feathers weigh more than its skeleton.
